mapdap is a hyperlocal social chat app for iOS. Open the app and you're dropped into conversations with people physically near you, anchored to a geohash-bounded zone. No follower counts, no audience — just the people who are actually around.

No. mapdap is a general-purpose location-based social chat app. There is no romantic-matching mechanic, no swipe deck, no preference filter. Anyone can join any zone chat and talk to anyone else there.

mapdap is operated by mapdap OÜ, an Estonian private limited company registered under Registry Code 17400755. It was co-founded by Abdalla Edres (CEO) and Fahed Elahmad (CTO).

Not yet. mapdap is currently iOS-only (App Store ID 6758653806). An Android app is not yet released.

No. mapdap uses your location to anchor you to a zone — a geohash-bounded slice of your neighborhood — never to broadcast your exact coordinates. Other users see only that you are in the same zone.

Yes. You can join zone chats without revealing identity. Your real name, phone number, and home location are private by default.

Every user and every piece of content has an in-app report option. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours and may result in content removal, an account warning, or suspension. See the Community Guidelines for the full policy.

mapdap publishes Safety Tips for both online and real-world interactions. We do not perform background checks. Any decision to meet someone in person is made at your own risk — meet in public places, tell a friend, trust your instincts.

Sign in with Apple, phone, or email. All three are supported on the iOS app.

Posting vibes, leaving comments, and joining chats requires a verified phone number — even if you sign in via Apple or email. This verification supports trust and safety on the platform and helps us act on reports of abuse.

16. mapdap is not intended for users under 16, and our Terms of Service require users to meet this minimum globally.

Open Settings inside the iOS app, tap Account, then Delete Account. You can also email support@mapdap.com to request deletion. See the Data Deletion page for the full process.

Yes. mapdap is free to use. Two optional auto-renewing subscriptions unlock additional premium features.

mapdap Premium is $9.99 USD per month. mapdap Founding Member is $49.99 USD per year and includes an exclusive Founding Member badge. Both plans unlock the same premium perks.

Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. Refund requests must be made directly to Apple via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. mapdap does not have the ability to process App Store refunds.

mapdap is rolling out city by city. The current list of supported countries is visible on the App Store listing in your region. If mapdap is not yet available where you are, join the waitlist.
